Is a Rigid Inflatable Boat right for you?

The mighty RIB (Rigid Inflatable Boat) has been around for some time, mainly being used for marine professionals and military usage. Their strength and robustness have made them an invaluable asset to their industries and many others. Recently, these boats have been evolving into luxurious pleasure boats for the average person to use and enjoy. People have started to use them for watersports, workboats superyacht tenders, and family cruisers.

Their versatility, stability, and impressive performance make them capable of withstanding every element your throw at it. Hysucat has been manufacturing luxurious RIBs and wants to show you why these incredible vessels are perfect for you.

What is a Rigid Inflatable Boat?

The Rigid Inflatable Boat gets its name from the sturdy, solid hull and inflatable tube system that gives them incredible buoyancy even in the roughest of conditions. Many of the newer models have tubing systems that can be removed in order to easily maintain the vessel. The hull was designed to give the captain maximum performance. The deep ‘V’ hull makes it easy for RIBs to easily cut through the water and maximize hydroplaning. This gives you a vessel that is able to handle every type of condition you throw at it. It will perform admirably as a dive boat in the tropics and as an expedition tender in the Artic.

For the leisure market, a RIB is perfect for day cruising and watersports. Families will love water skiing or wakeboarding with these boats. They’re also perfect for diving and discovering hidden coves and beaches.

Sizes and Variations

Like any boat or car, RIBs come in different shapes, sizes, and styles. They can range from 9-foot dinghies with paddles or a small engine, all the way to a 28-foot luxury cruiser. In general, they will usually fall between 14 to 29 feet long. They are usually propelled by one or more outboard engines with some featuring an inboard engine. An inboard engine allows larger models to have a swim platform which is desirable for those looking for a leisure vessel.

RIBs can be driven from the outboard engine or from a center console or cockpit with seating. Depending on the model, they can also feature hard-tops, windshields, and navigational equipment.

Luxurious RIBs

Some RIBs can be modified to have luxurious equipment that would be found on bigger boats. They can be equipped with such things as refrigerators, swim platforms, canopies, storage areas, sound systems, and sun pads.
